BCS National Championship Game

Florida (12-1) vs. Oklahoma (12-1)

FOX - 8:30 PM

FloridaBuy  Short    OklahomaBuy  Short

We will get this thing rolling as we move towards kickoff.

That was an interesting National Anthem.

The Sooners will take the ball first.

Our first review of the night, and the play stands as a catch.

And the Gators hold on the opening drive and will take over at their 20.

Another review - not sure what we are looking at.

The first turnover of the night, and tebow4prez probably just cut himself.

Great throw and catch, but the hold will bring it back.

The Gators dodge the bullet and get the ball back at their 13.

The 1st quarter ends scoreless, with the Gators driving.

The Gators strike first, Tebow to Murphy and the 7-0 lead.

The Sooners answer right back - Bradford to Gresham to tie it 7-7.

After another Tebow pick, the Sooners have good field position.

The announcers have no idea what down it is

And on 4th and goal the Gators hold!

Nasty looking injury to Rainey.

The Gators punt it back to Oklahoma, who will try to put their 2 minute drill to use.

And the Gators get the huge pick at the goal line with 3 seconds remaining!!

We head to the half tied at 7.

We are set to kickoff with the Gators taking the ball first.

Gators punt and the Sooners will start at their own 12.

The Sooners line up to punt it back - and after each team takes a time out the Gators rough the kicker and give the Sooners the first down.

Oklahoma fails to take advantage of the penalty and punts it back to Florida, who will start at their own 25.

Harvin in the "wild-gator" formation takes it in from the 1 for a 14-7 lead late in the 3rd.

Attempting a 49 yard field goal, the Sooners have it blocked by Florida.

The Gators punt to start the 4th quarter, and the Sooners need to finish a drive.

Oklahoma, with the aid of some Gator penalties, gets in the red zone again.

Gresham loses a shoe and scores anyway - score tied at 14 with 12:13 to go.

It appears that Harvin's ankle is going to hold up, as he races 52 yards to flip the field.

I spoke too soon.

The Gators add the 28 yard field goal to take the lead 17-14 with 10:45 remaining.

Unbelievable interception for the Gators.

Tebow to Nelson may have just put this one on ice - Gators lead 24-14.

The Gators run out the clock and win the title.  More ED fun tomorrow!

Are you kidding me, they couldn't find anyone else to call this game? I've never heard of ether of them. You can't tell me everyone else said, "Oh, the BCS Championship in Miami? Nah, I'd rather sit on the couch."

I'll take Florida, and during the commercials check out ESPN.com for an article by Rick Reilly about why Utah should be the real champ. Mac Brown and the Utah coach have both said they plan on voting there teams #1 in the coaches polll...

Two things. first of all, how come both teams went down so far. and 2, why don't they have a damn playoff. i think utah is the best team in the nation, usc is second best texas is third oklahoma is fourth and florida is fifth. if penn state didn't lose i would have had them above florida. so how come we don't have a freaking playoff. there should never be an arguement about the champion. ncaaf is the only ncaa sport without a playoff.

how about either 8 seeded playoffs with the big east, big ten, big 12, sec, pac 10, and acc winners getting automatic bids and 2 wild cards.

or 12 teams with 6 wilds cards and the top 4 teams get byes.

or 16 teams with those 6 bids and perhaps a couple of bids for smaller conferences that possibly can merge. that way the first round matchups can be easy for the 1 seeds and that way we can have george mason's in football.

or anything as long as its not bowls.

Agreed. Am also confused at how neither team stock has risen. Hopefully Florida's score will push movement. That Leclaire show was a nice little ride, but appears to have tapered off...

Here's an idea: The top 8 teams in the BCS rankings make it, with the only guaranteed spots going to undefeated teams.

Thats a decent idea but what if the team has a really really bad schedule like ball state this year (who lost to buffalo). i think it should be done by strength of schedule and wins combined with an automatic system. if your sos is really bad, you shouldnt make it no matter what your record is.

Sorry for the slow response - I had to reboot.

It is odd they are both down, but the winner is definately the #1 guarantee at this price.

zeeeep - the "giving him the business" origibated in a 1970's NFL game - the ref said it then too.

As for the playoff, I think a 16 team with all 11 conference champs automatic + 5 at-large using the BCS formula. FIrst round at high-seed home site, and then use Cotton, Capital One, Orange, Fiesta, Rose, Sugar, and Holiday bowls to host the other games.

There is definately some issue - I hope they are correcting earnings for NCAAF and it is messing the trading up temporarily - but I doubt it. I haven't even bothered in-game trading. I own both. Zeeeep - you and I just need to make our own sport stock market game :-) I think we would have it covered between us. Stats would be correct and we would at least be available to fix bugs and interact. [/dreaming sequence]

So you guys noticed it too.

It feels as if both prices are like a magnet towards 19% and when they break from it any release (cover, sell) sends them scrambling back towards that mark

I mean, FL goes up 7 and the kicker isn't even out yet and OK doesn't do shit but go up?? come on.

TES - I have seen a lot of things on PT - but in-game non-movement has NEVER happened. This concerns me that as I mentioned in the earlier post today about the algorithm, that PT's code is so F'ed up they can't really ever get everything working at once.

Something has to be up, I mean break it down. Both are massively bought stocks with ED tomorrow, both are getting action, but it's pure chump change.

It almost feels like it's gone in reverse.

I know that they set a price for everything to boomerang towards. and it sucks.

I'll script the front end for yas. Would be kickass to have an api so trading clients can be built (without risk of getting kicked out). When in Australia I enjoyed betfair, but a mix of both would be kickass.

Game just got quite boring trading wise, I hope the alg' didn't get screwed for NFL since they've put adjustments there too

Rinoblast05 - I'm hoping that is another sign of the PT elves at work making repairs. We'll know soon enough because usually when they work on things they break it and have to reboot the server
